Cabinet Post & New Objectives

I have been promoted to the Cabinet and now hold the portfolio for safer & stronger communities. Under my remit I will take ownership of policy in the following key areas:
-Responsible for delivery of Safer & Stronger Communities key priorities
-Oversee the work of strategic housing, licensing & environmental health, sports & leisure, museums, CCTV & community safety and Service Managers for Safer &... Stronger
Communities and Strategic Housing
I am the Cabinet link to Worcester Community Trust, Regulatory & Museums Shared Service.

During my year as Chair of licensing I managed to introduce several key policies including the introduction of a cumilative Impact Zone in the city centre, the acceptance of rear access vehicles to the fleet and the delegation of powers to officers.
Amongst the things I was working on were the introduction of a agreement for 'Chuggers' on the high street and was looking for an increase in vehicle inspections to increase vehicle safety .

However this work may or may not be carried out by the new Chair of Licensing Paul Denham whom i would like to wish good luck to in the post.

I thank everyone for their support in my previous role and ask for their continued support in my current role so that I can continue to bring as much benefit to as many people as I can in the City of Worcester regardless of party or creed/race/religion.

Dementia

Dementia I was privileged enough to have witnesses something spectacular last night at the Worcester Arts Workshop. What I witnessed was something profoundly gut wrenching, something that touched the very depths of my soul and stirred such powerful emotions that you would not have believe me had I said to you that I silently wept through it. I witnessed an incredibly powerful full mask touring production of , Finding Joy; a funny, touching, vital, and heroic tale of dementia. Of how a young man learns to put his addictions aside to care for his grandma. What it shows, is the true reality regarding dementia, what inevitably many of us will have to go through personally as victim & witness. It brings home the harsh reality of what many experience daily and what many are yet to go through. This brave production , performed excellently by VAMOS , is performed without words. Thus making it all the more poignant & significant. The actions strking, gestures amplified, the flow p...
